AFP at Maison Villeroy

The famous Agence France-Presse is launching its first-ever auction with some 200 photographs taken from its analogue photography collection. On this occasion, Maison Villeroy has the honor to welcome some of the most beautiful photographs offered for sale. Historical moments or photographic discoveries, AFP offers the rare opportunity to buy a unique print capturing important historic moment until then reserved for major international media or for collective memory. This exceptional auction, ‘The Analogue Years’, will take place on Sunday October 3, 2021, under the direction of DIGARD AUCTION. There will be two weeks of open bidding available ahead of the auction at Artsy.net.
The selection on sale is made up of photographs illustrating current events from 1944 – the founding year of AFP – up to 1998, when the Agency started rolling out digital photography. Several exhibitions in Paris will present these artworks such as the ones at the Fisheye Gallery (Sept. 3 – Oct. 3) or at We are (Sept. 13 – Oct. 3). On this occasion, Maison Villeroy hosts some wonderful works around women’s thematic in our beautiful atrium but also in our Antoine Suite : we invite you to live an exceptional stay around stunning masterpieces.
